Require the revised national curriculum to embed nature, play and kinship as foundational elements - not optional enrichment. The evidence shows this transforms outcomes for all children, particularly those with SEND and mental health needs. The workforce is united, now is the moment to act.
A nature-based curriculum means - science in gardens, maths through building, literacy through storytelling. We are raising the first generation more connected to screens than to the natural world. Parliament is considering legislation requiring outdoor time for every child. We call on Government to ensure it is foundational, not enrichment. The workforce of forest school practitioners, play workers and permaculture designers are united in the belief that this is the answer.
Why was this petition rejected?
