Consider reinstatement of a children’s ward in the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. Allow families to receive treatment in their local area. Reducing stress and worry of families and siblings. Having a facility that is in the local area will achieve this.
Northallerton itself is expanding with housing families. To have a children’s ward re-opened 24/7 would be a huge benefit to the community in and around North Yorkshire. Reducing travel for families. Children being seen and treated in an appropriate timescale. Children are getting misdiagnosed by the GPs causing deterioration in health and wellbeing of young people. Having a children’s unit would reduce the risk to young people.
