We wish to cancel the local government reorganisation of the district and county councils into a unitary authority that was led by Plymouth and Exeter labour councils and ignored the wishes of all the rural areas and of those of both the district and county councilS
In Devon, the district and county councils put forward several plans to re-organise into unitary authorities. There was a general consensus between the local authorities that the rural areas should be controlled by rural councils. Plymouth and Exeter went against this and this petition is to express our discontent that this option was chosen.
Why was this petition rejected?
It requests action at a local level.
