We want to demand the government to add X as an option in the gender marker section when applying for a passport so that non-binary and gender non conforming folk can live and travel under a term that fits them suitably.
As a non-binary and gender non conforming person, I am struggling to change the gender marker on my passport as neither Male or Female match my identity and when contacting the passport office have been told that I cannot have an X on my passport as it is not permitted. I feel this is discriminatory to gender non conforming folk as it does not allow us to live in our true identity and makes travel and general life more difficult. I fear this will be the same for many others. Please sign to help.
