Some charity shops are closing down due to rising costs of rent and energy bills. We urge the government to cut rent and energy bills for charity shops, give grants to shops that are struggling financially and pledge to support them.

Charity shops provide vital income for charities - some are struggling due to the cost of living and decreased donations, and this is limiting their impact. Charity shops are also essential as they give young people chances to volunteer, reduce waste in this climate crisis and help families buy used items during the cost of living crisis. The closure of further charity shops will be devastating.
