Rejected petition: The £2 bus fare cap should include school buses for school children
Rejected on
The Government will introduce a single bus fare cap of £2 from January 2027. We want confirmation that this will also apply to school buses.
The Government have recently announced that single bus fares across England will be capped at £2 from January 2027, showing commitment that buses remain affordable, reliable and accessible.
We want confirmation that this commitment also applies to school children. Ensuring the fare cap applies to school buses will greatly support working parents, significantly reduce congestion and pollution, and ensure that the use of public transport becomes a viable environmentally conscious choice.
