Rejected petition: GPS to overrule Cahms and refer children to specialists

Rejected on

I have a son who is 16 years old and has autism. when he seen cahms for help they said he didn’t meet the criteria therefore our GP cannot refer him to a psychologist as it needs to go through Cahms. Why should Cahms have all the power and neglect kids in need and make those decisions?

Cahms see kids for an hour and make decisions based on this. The GPs don’t have the power to overrule their decision and therefore can’t refer kids to psychologists, kids are suffering all over because of this. When you speak to cahms they are passive aggressive, almost laugh at you and diagnose your child or blame it on their diagnosis.
