Rejected petition: Impose reshaped policies to standardise the treatment of the LGBTQ+ community
Rejected on
In light of rising discrimination, misinformation and threats to LGBTQ+ rights across the UK, we urge the Government to introduce stronger, enforceable protections. Every person deserves safety and equal access to public life, yet injustices continue to restrict LGBTQ+ people.
Access: Organisations cannot exclude LGBTQ+ people. Policies that prevent equal healthcare be removed. Electric shock aversion therapy must be banned
Equal participation: Trans people must not be barred from attending political or public events.
Safeguard LGBTQ+ equality laws: No authority can overrule the Gender Recognition Act or the Equality Act. Create an LGBTQ+ Rights Committee; members must identify within the queer community- any laws affecting LGBTQ+ people must be approved by a majority
