Rejected petition: UK Parliament to remove Schengen rules placed on British visitors to Gibraltar

Rejected on

I’m asking UK Parliament to remove Schengen rules for British visitors to Gibraltar, re: Uk Gib EU treaty.
2.5 million Brits visit yearly.
British soil with EU border checks? We’ve been betrayed.
Protect British Gibraltar.

As ex-RAF, who served in Gibraltar, I’m asking the UK Parliament to debate the removal of Schengen rules for British visitors to Gibraltar.

EU citizens and migrants with leave to remain in Europe can enter Gibraltar freely with no checks.
The legislation is flawed.
UK citizens should not need EU checks to visit UK territory. Protect British Gibraltar.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We are not clear about the action sought by this petition.

Prior to this agreement there were still border checks on UK citizens travelling to Gibraltar, and there have always been immigration criteria for non-resident UK citizens travelling in to Gibraltar.

You could start a new petition calling for the removal of border checks for all UK citizens entering Gibraltar, if that is something you would like to see.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
