Rejected petition: Scrap the law forcing trans people to use toilets of their birth sex
Rejected on
This law makes nobody safer.
As a trans man, I’d be forced into women’s toilets despite looking like a man, increasing the risk of confrontation and abuse.
Predatory men don’t need this law to offend, but trans people will bear the consequences.
This petition calls for the law requiring people to use public toilets based on their sex at birth to be changed. Many trans men and women have medically and surgically transitioned and no longer resemble the sex they were assigned at birth. Forcing them into those facilities increases the risk of confrontation, harassment and assault, while offering no protection against those who seek to harm women.
