Open petition: Mandate mental health awareness training for at least one staff member
Created by Adam Howard
Closes on
We want the Government to make it a legal requirement for at least one staff member to be trained in an accredited mental health awareness course. Workplaces already provide physical safety training, but not a mandatory course for mental health.
Making this a legal requirement could help reduce work related stress, improve early intervention, support managers, and protect employees — especially men, who are statistically less likely to seek help. This law could ensure every workplace has someone equipped to respond appropriately, helping to create safer, healthier working environments across the UK.
