Rejected petition: Formally recognise the deliberate killings of Armenians in 1915-23 as genocide.
Rejected on
With this petition, I want the UK government to formally acknowledge the horrors the Armenian people underwent under the Ottoman and later Turkish government.
With this petition I want there to be formal recognition of the massacres of Armenians from 1915-1923 to be recognised as genocide. Furthermore, I want the UK government to condemn the continued denial of the Armenian Genocide from the governments of Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Finally, I believe it should be of utmost priority to educate people further on the Armenian Genocide as not enough people understand the horrors of the event. As a result, I believe this event should be taught in schools.
