Rejected petition: Publish all lobbying, made to MPs, publicly
Rejected on
There’s a gap with currently conflicts of interest are not consistently reported by MPs including lobbying that has occurred without public knowledge (including donations undisclosed) and is not disclosed in a unified way so the public has to rely on third parties to report this.
Recently we’ve seen MPs that have failed to disclose any lobbying efforts made by other parties some of them including state actors and rich private individuals (some that also have sympathies to state actors) that are privately being made. This is a form of extraterritorial reach by state actors to undermine our democracy and influence our duly elected representatives. This is also a form of privately lobbying for personal gain. There is no GOV database where this is constantly reported on.
