Rejected petition: 2nd route needed off Canvey Island. There is currently only one way on and off

Rejected on

The only way on and off of Canvey Island, is to navigate the Waterside Farm roundabout, which is a bottle neck. The slightest incident causes the whole Island to be gridlocked, sometimes taking well over an hour to travel just a few miles.

A route off to the west, to meet up with Manor Way, Coryton would funnel West bound traffic off on a separate route, alleviating the congestion experienced at Waterside Farm. This would also benefit the Coryton residents with easy access to superstores located at the western end of Canvey. The lack of adequate access roads has dramatically impacted the quality of life for residents and we urgently need the government's approval for the construction of a third access road off of Canvey Island.
