Open petition: Cap Child Maintenance payments at £200 per child
Created by Luca Del-Guidice
Closes on
We want Child Maintenance payments to be capped to a maximum of £200 per child – rather than to be based on pre-tax income – and to be reduced according to the proportion of days’ care given by the paying parent.
Doing this will, we believe, help reduce the stress and financial difficulties that many face when it comes to having to pay Child Maintenance and will make it more equal and fair to both parties when each has a share of the care of each child. Currently, we feel it is an unjustified system which only benefits the receiving party.
