Fund a national NHS preceptorship programme for unemployed qualified Physician Associates, providing paid supervised NHS employment and a clear pathway into permanent NHS roles while maintaining patient safety and clinical competence.

Thousands of qualified Physician Associates remain unemployed despite completing postgraduate medical training, passing the national qualifying examination and registering with the GMC. Many are becoming deskilled while the NHS continues to face workforce shortages. A funded NHS preceptorship programme would provide supervised employment and a clear pathway into NHS roles. We did what was asked of us. We are qualified. We are ready to work.
