Make care experience a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010 to protect care-experienced people from discrimination and ensure they have equal rights, opportunities, and recognition across society.

Care-experienced people can face lifelong barriers in education, employment, housing and services. Care experience is not currently protected under the Equality Act 2010. Recognising it as a protected characteristic would protect people from discrimination, improve equality, and ensure care-experienced people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
