We call on the Government tot introduce urgent reforms to the system regarding NHS clinical negligence claims and cases to ensure that patients who have suffered avoidable life-changing injuries receive a fair, transparent and independent investigation.

The Government should implement the following reforms: create a national panel of medical experts that assess all clinical negligence cases, establish a dedicated, independent body to investigate concerns regarding experts’ evidence and introduce meaningful sanctions against expert witnesses found guilty of deliberately misrepresenting medical evidence or failing to meet their professional duties.
