Rejected petition: Wigan Council to change the rules for the 'Wigan Walk Of Fame'

Rejected on

I would like the rules for Wigan Council's Administrative Civic Recognition Scheme to be changed and to recognise deceased individuals as well as those who still with us. This should in the form of an award called a 'Posthumous Award'

Wigan has their own Hollywood style 'walk of fame' but its rules state that only people or organisation's who use their platform for community benefit of achievement. BUT Sir Ian McKellen had their star placed on the 'Wigan walk of fame' because of and I quote... 'Global acting achievement's & childhood connections to the town' let me say that George Formby, Roy Kinnear and the Davey Boy Smith 'the British bulldog' have had equally world wide impact and deserve a place on the Wigan Walk Of Fame
