Open petition: 5 years employment & tax contributions for non-UK citizens to claim benefits
Created by Ryan Granger

Require 5 Years of employment and Tax Contributions in the UK for Non-UK citizens before they are eligible to claim Benefits, including Universal Credit.
We call on the UK Government to restrict access to Universal Credit and state benefits for non-UK citizens until they have completed at least five consecutive years of UK employment and tax contributions. We believe that state support should be earned through sustained work, not granted immediately. Individuals should not be allowed to pay a lump sum or upfront tax equivalent to bypass the five-year requirement. We call for this to take effect immediately, and for current claims to be stopped to those who have not yet met the 5-year requirement.
