We are calling for bowel cancer screening to start at 40 instead of 50. Bowel cancer can affect younger people, and early detection saves lives. Lowering the screening age could help find cancer sooner, improve treatment outcomes and give more families precious extra years together.

We are calling on the Government and NHS to lower the age for routine bowel cancer screening in England from 50 to 40. Bowel cancer can affect people in their 40s, and finding it early can save lives. Starting screening at 40 would help detect cancer and warning signs sooner, give people faster access to treatment, and improve survival. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to protect their health before symptoms appear. Lower the screening age to 40 and help save lives
