Rejected petition: Ensure Equal Access to Wraparound and Holiday Childcare for Children with SEND

Families with a child or children with SEND have extremely limited childcare options, with many parents being forced to reduce their working hours or stop work entirely. We want the government to urgently seek to rectify this, through providing funding and support to childcare providers.
We want dedicated funding to enable safe, accessible and enriching wraparound/holiday care to be available for children attending SEN units and specialist schools on their school site, and to facilitate inclusion within mainstream settings. Parents or carers of children with SEND should be able to access care at a price comparable to mainstream wraparound care, to have the opportunity to work and provide for their families without limitations imposed by a lack of affordable and accessible care.
Why was this petition rejected?
