Open petition: Mandate that libraries must provide access to diverse and inclusive materials
Created by Quinlan Reardon-Garlick
Closes on
The government must enact legislation to ensure libraries hold materials that provide a rich, ongoing discourse about diversity and inclusion in our communities.
Libraries are the sanctuaries of knowledge and celebration of diversity, but we feel local councils may be able to influence what materials are available.
Libraries should be free to celebrate & educate on diverse issues independently. We are supporting the fight for a more inclusive society where education is truly free from prejudice and restriction.
