Require vehicle manufacturers to give owners free online access to their vehicle’s complete service history and a vehicle-specific maintenance schedule showing completed, current and future maintenance requirements.
Digital service records vary between manufacturers, and owners can struggle to see what maintenance their own vehicle has received or what is due next. Government should require manufacturers to provide free, online, transferable and printable records, plus a vehicle-specific schedule based on mileage, age, engine, transmission and specification, clearly showing completed and upcoming maintenance.
