Immediately introduce a bill to prevent the killers of uniformed police, fire and ambulance workers from benefitting from early release schemes. This exclusion to apply both prospectively, as well as retrospecrively to all serving prisoners

On 30 August 2026, the Prime Minister announced that unlawful killing offences will be blocked from upcoming changes to prison sentences.

This means offenders in prison for killing an emergency worker in the line of duty will not be released any earlier.
