Rejected petition: Stop Green Belt being sacrificed while suitable brownfield land remains

Rejected on

Across the country, communities are facing the threat of losing precious green spaces to housing development. We believe suitable brownfield and previously developed land should be fully explored and prioritised before Green Belt is built on.

If we allow Green Belt to disappear unnecessarily, it is gone forever.

We are calling on the Government to protect our Green Belt as it has been historically

This isn't about stopping new developments but ensuring they are built in the right places.

Green Belt provides more than an attractive view. It contributes to nature, biodiversity, access to open space, environmental quality and the character and wellbeing of communities.

This is being threatened up and down the country.
