Open petition: Parents/guardian legal right to prevent use of their deceased child’s image
Created by Stacey White
Closes on
I want parents or guardians to have the legal right to stop people using a dead child's name or picture to make money, mock them, provoke others or glorify violence and to be able to get that content removed when the family has not agreed to it.
I am aware of many troubling examples of deceased children’s images after their death in ways which the families does not agree with, and which in some cases have caused families’ distress. Grief should never be turned into content, profit or something that fuels retaliation.
