Rejected petition: Remove unfair H&S approval platforms

Rejected on

Legislate against forced H&S subscription platforms where an organisation already holds accredited certification to International Standard(s)

Many UK business face significant additional costs to supply larger organisations with several H&S platforms being mandatory.
There is a need to vet / approve suppliers however, there are International Standards like ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO27001 amongst others that allow an organisation to demonstrate best practice.
The cost can quickly become tens of thousands of pounds and becomes a “box ticking” excise that also consumes vast amounts of time that adds no value to the economy.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It is up to individual businesses whether they subscribe to a health and safety platform and whether they require supplies to use them.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as banning third party health and safety platforms or providing funding to cover relevant costs.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
