London is experiencing increasingly frequent and severe heatwaves, with this summer already seeing its fifth. Hot buses are no longer an occasional problem. We urge the Government and TfL to accelerate bus replacement, introduce effective air conditioning and set temperature standards for buses. Waiting for normal fleet lifespans is too slow for a changing climate. This is an investment in passengers, drivers and London’s future.
