Rejected petition: Close Derby’s Asylum Hotels and Stop Dispersal into Local HMOs
Rejected on
We call on the Prime Minister to close Derby’s asylum hotels, prevent asylum seekers being moved into Derby HMOs or private rented homes, and remove those with no lawful right to remain, including serious offenders, after due process.
Derby residents have not been properly consulted on the use of local hotels for asylum accommodation. Recent reports of serious alleged offences have increased public concern. Closing hotels must not mean moving people into HMOs or private rented homes across Derby. The Government should end hotel use, prevent local dispersal, remove those with no lawful right to remain, and deport serious offenders after due legal process.
