Rejected petition: Increase CAMHS Funding and Improve Staff Training.

Rejected on

Provide more funds for CAMHS across the country and other services such as the CAMHS intensive and crisis team. Also, provide extra training to workers at CAMHS (e.g. therapists) on the more complex conditions such as Bipolar, EUPD and PTSD etc, including allowing earlier assessments and diagnosis

Many adolescents across the UK struggle with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and eating disorders, yet support is often unavailable until crisis point. Mental health issues are increasing, but CAMHS funding, staffing and training are not keeping pace. More funding is needed alongside improved training, particularly for recognising and assessing complex conditions such as bipolar disorder, EUPD and PTSD, ensuring earlier intervention, appropriate support and crisis prevention
