Rejected petition: Immediate permanent ban on disposable barbeques

Rejected on

A nationwide, permanent ban on disposable barbeques. They are a significant cause of wildfires. A permanent ban would stop people stockpiling items to use whilst temporary bans on their sale are in place.

There have been, so far, over 1,000 wildfires in Britain. up to early August. Many of these have been started by the use of disposable barbeques. 19 families lost their homes before a temporary ban was introduced on August 14th. Barbeques and camp fires threaten many more during dry, hot periods. These not only kill wildlife and destroy the landscape, they endanger lives and property. A permanent ban would ensure that these unnecessary devices will completely disappear from our country.
