We want the Government to protect farmers’ permitted development rights for years to come, allowing farms to continue hosting pop-up campsites and events that support and diversify rural businesses
I’m a British farmer, and like many farmers across the country, we use permitted development rights to run a small pop-up campsite and events on our farm.
this extra money helps top up wages, supports the farm.
However, there are increasing pressures from people who want to restrict or remove farmers’ ability to use these rights.
This petition asks the Government to protect farmers’ permitted development rights for the future.

Permitted development rights are already specified in law, and our constitutional system allows any Government through Parliament to change or amend statutory rights as it thinks fit. There is no way of creating legislation that is unamendable or enshrining a statutory right in perpetuity.
