Rejected petition: Petition Title:Mandate standard 6-month and 12-month medical check-ups.

Rejected on

We want the Government to mandate that the NHS provides structured, routine medical check-ups at 6 months and 12 months post-surgery for all hysterectomy patients, regardless of age, to monitor physical, hormonal, and psychological recovery.

Many hysterectomy patients are discharged from surgical care with only a single six-week check-up, or left entirely to primary care without a scheduled review. A hysterectomy is a major, life-altering surgery with permanent anatomical, hormonal, and psychological impacts. Leaving patients without structured follow-ups can cause pelvic floor complications, unmanaged surgical menopause, adhesion pain, and severe emotional distress to go unnoticed or untreated.
