Introduce legislation giving new intimate partners of people currently serving a sentence for serious domestic abuse a statutory right to be informed of their partner's relevant conviction and sentence.
People convicted of serious domestic abuse can enter new relationships while still serving their sentence, including suspended sentences.
We want Parliament to introduce a statutory Right to Know for new partners of qualifying domestic-abuse offenders. New partners should be informed of relevant convictions and the current sentence, without needing to request a Clare's Law disclosure or prove they are at risk. This would help people make informed decisions about their safety.

For there to be a right to know there also has to be a duty on someone to provide that knowledge/information. Your petition isn't clear on who that would be - or how they would know when someone entered what you describe as an 'intimate' relationship with someone serving a domestic abuse sentence.
