Rejected petition: Strengthen support for unpaid family carers
Rejected on
Require the Government to improve recognition, respite, financial protection and practical support for unpaid family carers, including those who work or receive funding for some care.
Unpaid family carers provide vital care, often beyond funded hours and without Carer’s Allowance. We want carers recognised and supported before they reach crisis, with meaningful respite, a voice in care decisions, fairer financial support and joined-up services. The clock may say 2 hours. The care may say 24 hours. Who cares for the other 22?
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We are not clear exactly what you are calling for - what type of recognition or practical support, for example? And we are also confused because the petition title suggests it is about unpaid carers but you also refer to carers who receive funding for some care.
You may want to submit a petition that makes these points more clearly.
We also have quite a few petitions open which deal with matters relating to carers, some of which you may want to consider signing:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
