Open petition: Introduce new guest safety and security standards for all hotels
Created by Wendy Griffith
Closes on
We want the Government to introduce mandatory national hotel safety and security standards, considering women and vulnerable guests, with secure room access, emergency contact, safeguarding, and clear risk-assessment.
A locked hotel room should mean you are safe. But recent cases have raised serious questions about hotel security, especially for women travelling alone and vulnerable guests. Guidance and individual hotel policies are not enough. We need clear national standards for room access, emergency help, safeguarding, risk checks, and reporting and accountability when things go wrong.
