I want historic coercive control to be recognised and properly considered by the law. Survivors can endure years of abuse, inc manipulation through children, finances & false allegations, yet be left without justice simply because the abuse occurred before coercive control became a criminal offence.

This petition calls for the Government to review how historic coercive control and post-separation abuse are dealt with. Survivors can endure years of psychological, financial and emotional abuse, including manipulation through children, interference with employment and false allegations. We want historic patterns to be properly recognised and considered, with lawful routes to accountability, while respecting the prohibition on retrospective criminal liability.
