We want the Government to give consumers direct legal rights and remedies against delivery companies, require retailers to identify the courier before purchase where reasonably practicable, and improve consumer choice and accountability in the parcel delivery market.

We want the Government to legislate to give consumers direct legal rights and remedies against delivery companies when goods are lost, damaged, delayed or mishandled. Retailers should, where reasonably practicable, tell consumers before purchase which delivery company will be used. The current system weakens competition because retailers choose couriers based largely on cost, while consumers bear the consequences of poor service and have little choice or direct recourse.
