We call on the UK Government to fund a programme of regulated baby hatches across the country, allowing newborn babies to be surrendered safely and anonymously in emergency situations.

Recent tragic cases involving newborn babies have left many people asking whether more could be done to prevent avoidable deaths. While those responsible for harming children must face the full consequences of the law, there should also be a safe, legal option available for parents who feel unable to care for a newborn.
