Require all alternative provision settings in England to be registered and independently inspected, with mandatory safeguarding, SEND training and minimum staff competency standards to ensure vulnerable children are safe.

I want the Government to introduce mandatory registration, regulation and independent inspection for all alternative provision settings in England.

Children who attend alternative provision are often among the most vulnerable children in education, including children with autism, ADHD, SEND, anxiety, trauma and complex needs. Parents should be able to have confidence that these settings are safe, properly monitored and staffed by people with appropriate training and experience.
