Appoint a Minister for Disability & Equalities, with responsibility for overseeing disability rights, equality policy, fair treatment of all disabled people as disability affects all the protected characteristics.

Hold all government departments accountable for the impact of their policies on disabled people. At present, disability and equality responsibilities are often combined with wider ministerial roles and placed under broader departmental portfolios. We feel that this does not provide the focused leadership or accountability needed to address the challenges faced by disabled people. Address issues relating to discrimination, negative stereotyping, media representation and barriers to participation in society. Act as a central point of contact and advocacy for disabled people and their organisations.
