Introduce a national Parent & Child Parking Permit for parents and carers of young children, with eligibility for children aged 4 years old and under.

Parent-and-child spaces are to make parking safer & easier. However, there is no nationally recognised permit for these. This means parents can arrive at a car park & find spaces being used by vehicles without young children, with no consistent national system for checking eligibility. We propose the permit remain until the child’s fifth birthday. Parents face difficulties in busy car parks, including safely removing children from seats, managing pushchairs & keeping children away from traffic.
