Open petition: Expand home university fee eligibility to UK residents without settled status
Created by Chinonye Cordelia Osakwe
Closes on
This petition is to make UK residents regardless of immigration status or timeline eligible for home university fees. All immigrants living in the UK should have the right to a fair education at higher level in England.
Knowing well that many immigrants are from low income families, we are asked to pay at least 3 times the home fees in tuition alone. Many with no support or help. We work hard, contribute but are held back simply because of a passport colour. We believe this is unfair. We feel that a lot of immigrant children work twice as hard ie work, school, family contributions, just to be on the same level as other kids and are still held back and put on hold by situations they can't control.
