Current laws treat small boat arrivals under civil immigration rules and search-and-rescue protocols. This creates an open loophole where undocumented arrivals can bypass proper channels without immediate deterrence. We need to officially elevate the legal status of unauthorized crossings to a sovereign security emergency. This will give our defense forces the clear legal authority and mandatory duty they need to secure the coastline and permanently deter crossings.
