Open petition: Review NHS patient access to essential medical equipment & supplies
Created by Chloe marsden
Closes on
Launch a review into NHS patient access to essential medical equipment and supplies and ensuring consistent access regardless of their postcode or ability to pay. People with chronic illnesses depend on essential equipment and supplies to stay alive and prevent complications.
However, access and quantities may vary based on postcode and funding. Some patients may need to purchase necessary supplies or equipment themselves. We believe this is unacceptable and that medical needs should not depend on postcode or ability to pay.
We want the review to look into establishing national access and quantity standards based on individual medical needs, ensuring patients are not required to self-fund, and addressing postcode variations in medical supply access and quantities.
