Rejected petition: Make wearing a helmet a legal requirement when riding a bike
Rejected on
In this day and age, the roads are extremely busy and becoming increasingly dangerous for cyclists especially if they aren’t wearing a helmet.
Some children find it embarrassing to wear a helmet, which I believe is why a lot of people don’t wear one.
Helmets can save someone’s life.
Every year, thousands of cyclists suffer preventable, life-altering head injuries and fatal trauma on our roads. While seatbelts are mandatory in cars, basic head protection on bicycles remains optional—leaving riders needlessly vulnerable.
Making helmets a legal requirement could save lives, reduce severe brain injuries, and ensure safety is standard for every cyclist. Sign this petition to demand legislation that protects all riders on our roads.
