Rejected petition: Scrap System Risk Assessments: Mandate Support & Therapeutic Plans instead.
Rejected on
The UK's health, social care and justice systems are failing. The current risk assessment approach treats people as liabilities to manage. We must scrap this defensive culture and mandate a cross-system Support and Therapeutic Plan model that prioritises trauma-informed healing and human dignity.
We call on the government to execute a cross-system overhaul of health, social care, and justice frameworks to scrap defensive risk assessments. Replace them with legally mandated Support and Therapeutic Plan model. The current risk culture focuses on institutional liability, treating vulnerable people as risks to contain. This traps individuals in trauma. Transitioning to a unified trauma-informed system allows services to work together, putting human dignity and healing first.
