The residents and council taxpayers of Surrey urge MPs to press for parliamentary repeal of The Surrey (Structural Changes) Order 2026, No.264, in line with the decision by HM Government on 7 September 2026 to pause the process of local government reorganisation in other county areas.
To press HM Government to halt government reorganisation in Surrey, due to take full effect 2027, in line with its general decision on 7 September 2026 to "pause" the process of local government reorganisation in other counties. Further, the process of reorganisation relating to the new "West Surrey" authority should only be resumed after all on-going debts at Woking BC and Spelthorne BC have been fully resolved and eliminated.
