Open petition: Offer UK Armed Forces for the International Stabilisation Force for Gaza

Created by Farquhar Rory Iverson
Closes on

We ask the Government to offer UK Armed Forces personnel in formed armed units, with support to sustain them, to the Gaza International Stabilisation Force intended to protect Palestinian civilians, and seek an international mandate for a similar civilian-protection force in the occupied West Bank.

UN Resolution 2803 authorised a Gaza force and expressly includes protection of civilians in its mandate, but on 26 August 2026 the UN described its deployment and Israeli withdrawal as requiring implementation. On 4 September UN Human Rights said nobody in Gaza was safe and reported continued fatal attacks. Resolution 2803 provides no equivalent West Bank force. The UK should offer a contribution suitable for real civilian-protection duties, not limited to liaison, advisory or planning staff.
